A trailer for Container, the latest from Scandanavian auteur Lukas Moodyson, has turned up online and it is surprisingly in line with what I expected from the very odd synopsis. Which is to say that those who have criticized the man for pretentiousness of late obviously have a huge new heaping of ammunition here while those who enjoy his experiments will be delighted.
Here's the synopsis from sales agent Trust Film:
"Poetic, experimental and different, CONTAINER is described by Lukas Moodysson as "a black and white silent movie with sound" and with the following words; "A woman in a man's body. A man in a woman's body. Jesus in Mary's stomach. The water breaks. It floods into me. I can't close the lid. My heart is full". "

Oh boy. If folks though Moodysson's last two movies were pretentious, they ain't seen nothing yet. "Container" is by far the most pretentious film I've seen in years.
"...My heart is full"
..and suddenly so is my bullshit meter.
