Oh, it's a happy day here in Twitch-land because today is the day I received what appears to eb the very first public look at the official poster for Paul Fox's sophomore film Everything's Gone Green, which just so happens to be the very first feature film written by Canadian icon - and huge favorite of mine - Douglas Coupland, still best known as the author of Generation X though his body of work stretches well beyond that. I shall confine myself to facts to prevent myself from jabbering on.

What you see to the left is the official poster for the film, just released for public consumption today. If you would care to ogle a larger version you can do that here. Or, for the largest version yet, you can download the high res PDF file, suitable for framing, printing or otherwise rubbing all over your naked body.

The observant among you will note the official website URL at the bottom of that poster and, yes, that site is now live.

Now, when I can I see this fine film is surely what you are asking yourself. September 29th is your answer, according to ThinkFilm, though this date is Canada only with US details still be worked out.

Now scurry along and click links. Or you can read the official press release below.

VANCOUVER – Writer Douglas Coupland announces that ThinkFilm has picked up the Canadian distribution rights and will theatrically release his premiere penned feature film EVERYTHING’S GONE GREEN on September 29.

In what is a sly comment on the times, EVERYTHING’S GONE GREEN is the first story from popular writer Douglas Coupland written specifically for the screen and not adapted from any previous works. Coupland is best known as the internationally best-selling author of “Generation X”, “Hey Nostradamus!” and most recently “jPod”.

Coupland is in keeping with his topical and comedic styling with EVERYTHING’S GONE GREEN. Ryan, a loveable twenty-nothing, is tempted into a money-laundering scheme but struggles with his ill-gotten gains while trying to find happiness.

“EVERYTHING’S GONE GREEN is about when you get older and you feel certain doors closing very quickly on you. It deals with that feeling of now or never.” says Coupland.

The film stars Paulo Costanzo from the feature films Road Trip, 40 Days and 40 Nights, NBC’s JOEY and the upcoming CBS show Rules of Engagement and Steph Song, from the upcoming Jet Li feature “Rogue” and CBC miniseries “Dragon Boys”.

EVERYTHING’S GONE GREEN is directed by Paul Fox, his second-feature after last year’s The Dark Hours.

Also, Douglas Coupland previewed the first official artwork for EVERYTHING’S GONE GREEN that will be distributed early and available in limited editions.

EVERYTHING'S GONE GREEN is produced by Chris Nanos at Radke Films and Elizabeth Yake and Henrik Meyer at True West Films (It’s All Gone Pete Tong). ThinkFilm, a proud supporter in Canadian films, will be releasing the film on September 29.

ThinkFilm’s Andrew Austin, Sr. V.P. of Canadian Distribution, says, “We are delighted to be associated with the creative genius of Douglas Coupland. He is a true ‘renaissance man’ and Paul Fox is definitely a director to watch.”

The project is partly financed by Telefilm Canada and the Harold Greenberg Fund. World sales are handled by Shoreline Entertainment. Details regarding the United States release will be announced by the producers at a future date.

I'm guessing (and I'm about 99% sure of this) that there will be TIFF screenings of the film as a Canadian launch of the film. The documentary on Coupland's "SOVENEIRS OF CANADA" was well enough received last year.
