I can't say that I have been waiting for this to happen with baited breath.

We've been loosely following the ups and down of developmental hell that has been getting Rush Hour 3 off the ground and running. We like Jackie Chan. We don't speak ill of Chris Tucker but we cannot imagine that he has been behind so much of the trouble getting this third installment going for the last five years.

The third installment of Rush Hour would begin this August, said Jackie Chan during a fan gathering event, called Jackie's Global Friendship Tour 06, yesterday in Hong Kong. Jackie Chan has said the Rush Hour series was not his favorite but he would keep doing it as long as his fans liked it - MonkeyPeaches
"Rush Hour 3" will be set in Paris, where Tucker and Chan's characters will battle a wing of the Chinese organized crime family, the Triads. The previous two films have earned in the realm of $600 million worldwide, this one has been in development for almost five years but hasn't come together due to scheduling difficulties. Tucker will earn $20 million against 20% of gross along with a second-picture commitment for the same salary on a film to be determined later. Chan will get around $15 million against 15% of gross and own distribution rights in China and Hong Kong - Dark Horizons

A couple things. Can't we do any better than the Triads? Gosh man! And is that what we're calling it now? Scheduling conflicts? Exactly what has Chris Tucker been doing in the last little while that has taken up so much of his time? Anyone? And part of me feels bad that Jackie doesn't like doing these films. I'd rather see a passionate Jackie Chan on the screen than see him mail it in. Well, perhaps passionate isn't the right word. A little too 'lovey dovey'. How about 'willing?'

I like the Rush Hour movies. Call me crazy, but I like Chris Tucker. Now if we can get some more Jackie action in this one, it'll all be great.
