I know. That's is an intentionally headline, 'cos the bigger concern that leads to that minor one (which will hopefully simply make this something people read quickly) is that the rumors have begun that CPM (Central Park Media) who have licensed 'Negadon' (and at least were about to release it Stateside on DVD) are laying off staff and sinking into bankruptcy.
Shame, they've been around a very long time and they're a familiar face (name) for anime fans - hardcore or otherwise. Fingers crossed then, that something positive is there to be had, both for the staff and the company name. [Source : Anime News Network / Anime On DVD].

Well, most of their adult anime releases have been cut despite the cover screaming about them being UNCENSORED. I'm talking about every single episode of LA BLUE GIRL, TWIN ANGELS and UROTSUKIDOJI IV here. Very lame. Hopefully these licenses will get picked up by a competent distributor now.
Well cpm was the first anime distributor in the us to get videos onto main stream rental shelves, and the've done a lot of good things for the community in the past... That said, the company has been left in the dust, and it shows. For nearly a decade they've been slipping, they haven't had a really "hot" title in a long time, and for the most part they've been relying too much on their back catalog--much of which is made up of low budget OAVs and movies that have little following. Kind of sad, maybe they can turn things around...
Damn. I see Negadon on the shelves here in Tokyo all the time and it just pisses me off that it's not suptitled. Also Rampo Noir just came out and that's not subtitled as well. I really need to learn Japanese.
