Mmmmh.... Son Ye-Jin.

After exchanging long, interminable stares with that art's master, Yonsama Bae Yong-Joon in Hur Jin-Ho's 외출 (April Snow), here's something completely different for the young star: 작업의 정석 (The Art of Seduction), a sexy comedy.

You've seen plenty of Korean comedies with 선수 ('players') using their skills to catch their prey in the dating game. But what if the 'players' are two, and they end up going after each other? What do you think... they fall in love! Directed by Oh Gi-Hwan of 선물 (Last Present), the film did extremely well at the box office last year, ending just out of the Top 10 with over 2 Million tickets, and almost instantly sold distribution rights to Japan for a pretty spiffy figure. The rest of the cast includes super-talented Song Il-Guk from 해신 (Emperor of the Sea), and Hyun Young with her nasal shenanigans.

PapaDVD already has a shot of the cover art, which is pretty cute (although that green... I don't know), and you can see it here (Madmad also posted another). If you want to refresh your memory about the film, you can watch the trailer here, and pre-order is here. DVD Releases on March 9 (subject to change, as always), and it looks like the usual solid 2-disc Edition from I Vision.

Cute packaging, but looks like a fairly conventional comedy. With several other excellently written romcoms to choose from (Marriage is a Crazy Thing, Rules of Dating, You're My Sunshine, Sarangni), I'd think twice before blowing $30 on this 'breezy entertainment'.

I might have my genres mixed up, but can't we agree that the pricetag's pretty hefty for something so lite? Esp. when Blue Swallow is available for pre-order for $20 (i.e.50% less)? If we were offered a choice, I'd say 'rent', not 'buy'.

if you're paying 40 bucks for this, then It's not my fault.

I'm paying 23,000 Won for this. I enjoy my 'lite' as much as the 'meaty'. Hell, I spent 40 bucks on Swing Girls.

It's a must watch movie.
