I'm not sure what this means for the large scale war picture that had been announced as Shinya Tsukamoto's next feature, but Don Brown at Ryunganji has just spotted a news story in Japan that states Tsukamoto's next project will be titled Akumu Tantei, which translates to The Nightmare Detective, and will star Ryuhei Matsuda as a suicidal detective who can enter people's dreams to solve mysteries. The original character is apparently deliberately written in the style of Edogawa Ranpo and may become the subject of a series of films. Nice.
