It's been a little while since we've heard from Russian news hound Yuric but he sent in a flurry of quality stuff today. Leading the pack is a website and trailer for Bastards, a film that looks to be the love child of The Dirty Dozen and Battle Royale. Set during World War II the film follows a group of teenage boys sent on a suicide mission behind German lines. The trailer looks pretty fantastic and the Russian DVD has just released and includes English subtitles. I use AllDVD.ca as a good, English friendly source for Russian DVDs and recommend them heartily.
In other Russian war movie news Yuric also tells me that although the original Russian DVD release of The 9th Company did not include English subtitles there is another version coming down the line that will. Good news, that.

hm, the trailer seems to be down..
Is there a good site that sells Russian DVDs?
I've always had good luck with RusianDVD.com (They seemed to have Night Watch and Immortel before anyone else did). They have this DVD for $19.99 (US).
Trailer seems to be down, but caught it off the website and it looks great. There seems to be a few peole selling it on ebay for around 18 USD.
I've bought from alldvd.ca in the past with no problems. Service at russiandvd.com is fine but you need to be careful with them because they mix some bootlegs in with their legit stock.
There are bastards, and these bastards have shooted vile, false film of "Bastards".
The unique school of boys - saboteurs has been organized by fascists. In the USSR such NEVER was!
They tried to use boys from an occupied territories for diversive activity.
It appeared senselessly. Boys did not make diversion, and at once escaped.
For shootings film the state money are given. Russia gives money for film to humiliate itself. Many such films are shooted. The situation is similar to competition who will shoot even worse!
