Hailing from Switzerland, comes a new sci-fi movie. I don't have much info on this except a movie poster provided by the good folks at movieposterdb and a website. The tagline on the poster says "Space is cold." Sounds kind of horror-ish. I wonder if there is a monster inside the cargo.

The official site has no trailer at the present but if you browse through the site, you can sign up for a newsletter to receive any news update. If you can read German, then you can check out the synopsis, production notes and the cast info. According to imdb.com, the director is Ivan Engler who directed a short film called Nomina Domini. Anybody with any information about this, please do share at the comment section.

The footer is talking about pre-production and they will begin shooting in Februar 2oo6.

I try to translate the story roughly:
Year 2237. After the oekological collaps mankind escaped to tiny cold space stations in the orbit of the sick earth. The only hope: emigration to the paradisiac planet RHEA far away. To be able to afford this dream, the young doctor Laura signs on the cargoship KASSANDRA. Far away from earth she is guarding the wrecked ship. The rest of the crew is sleeping frozen (?). Her shift will take another 4 months. Suddenly she hears creepy sounds from the cargo hold. The adventure takes rein (or just begins?)...

Doesn't sound sooo exciting though...

Thanks Walt for the translation. You never know, it could be something cool. When the trailer comes out, then we can see if it is good or not. I guess it will be a longass time before the trailer will be up since its in the pre-production stage.

"My bad, I didn't know the official language of Switzerland at the time. I'm going to correct it."

In Switzerland there are FOUR languages: German (in the Suisse allemande), French (in the Suisse romande), Italian (in the Suisse italienne), and Romanche (which isn't an official language but a national one).

I thought that could interest you... And yes, I'm Swiss! ;)
