Lee Young-Ae promised to take a little break after her amazing performance in 친절한 금자씨 (Sympathy For Lady Vengeance), but that didn't stop her from being selected as one of the jury members for the upcoming Berlin Film Festival.

The event, now in its 56th edition, will open on February 9, and will be Lee's first trip to the Festival since Park Chan-Wook's 공동경비구역 JSA (Joint Security Area) entered the Competition section in 2001. Although other Asian actresses like Maggie Cheung and Michelle Yeoh shared the honour, this is the first time a Korean actor (male or female) becomes part of the jury for the Competition section.

Lee Young-Ae's management announced they received the call on September 25 last year, and they ironed out all the details when they met with Berlin officials at the Pusan International Film Festival.
