The teaser for the latest from Takeshi Kitano has turned up online and ... well ... there's so little there it's hardly worth calling a tease at all. Just the titles and a shot of Kitano walking. But still, it's new Kitano and new Kitano is always a good thing. From what I'm hearing this one is a very post modern deconstruction of Kitano's various media personalities, with all of them competing for space in his own head ... It all sounds rather Being John Malkovich to me ...

If you turn up the brightness on your monitor, you can see it's actually a shot of Kitano walking along the tracks as the headlight of an oncoming train approaches in the distance.
The end of the trailer says "This fall, the veil is lifted", which seems to fit what sounds like a fascinating, self-referential look at showbusiness and the cult of personality.

so when does this movie get released? sure looks cool. the autuer takes a look at the actor/personality...
The Japanese DVD will be released on 7th of April.
