Cronenberg gets studio backing for Painkillers
Somewhere in my area of personal protest against home decor, my room, is a Toronto Blue Jays game day press package signed by Canadian directing legend David Cronenberg. I'm just sayin...
We've received good news today that Cronenberg's next film Painkillers just got studio backing from international producer Andras Hamori and his H20 Motion Pictures.
Painkillers is Cronenberg's first original script since eXistenZ... It is set in the world of radical performance artists and looks at "plastic surgery as performance art" according to Hamori.
Cronenberg is a god [small g] in Canadian cinema and has hailed international acclaim for films such as The Fly, Crash, Naked Lunch, and Spider. He is in post-production for A History Of Violence starring Viggo Mortensen and his next project is London Fields.
