Transformers movie has a writer...

John Rogers.

Does that name send a chill up your spine? Perhaps it should. John has been chosen to fill out a full script for the Transformers movie from a treatment by X-MEN executive producer Tom DeSanto. John's previous works? Catwoman! The Core! American Outlaws! Not quite sure how to take this news. Steven Speilberg is executive producing the film though. I know that amounts to a hill of beans but it's a sliver of hope to me.

Just imagine what the big studios can do with your robots in disguise.

And if this guy can do this then by golly there might be hope yet. (Click on "VW Transformer" in the top right. - Movie file near the bottom.)

I'd just like to point out that identity was written by the same guy who wrote Jack Frost and Jack Frost 2. So there's ALWAYS hope.
