Another House of Flying Daggers Trailer
Sony has just released a second teaser trailer for The House of Flying Daggers. They're calling this one the "Romance" trailer to go along with the already available "Action" trailer, but the label is a bit of a misnomer as there's plenty of action in both. I should point out, though, that the color is a bit bleached out in both trailers, so to get the full effect of just how stunning the imagery in this thing really is you really ought to check out the stack of still shots Sony has added to the official North American web page.
Strangely enough, the Windows Media versions of the trailers look the best so here they are.

If you want to know more you can either read on for the official press release synopsis of the film, or click here for my review from the Toronto Film Festival. It's the second review of three in the post, so you'll need to scroll down a little. Suffice to say that we liked it a little bit.
House of Flying Daggers is set in the year is 859 AD as China's once flourishing Tang Dynasty is in decline. Unrest is raging throughout the land, and the corrupt government is locked in battle with rebel armies that are forming in protest. The largest, and most prestigious of these rebel groups is the House of Flying Daggers, which is growing ever more powerful under a mysterious new leader. Two local captains, Leo (ANDY LAU TAK WAH) and Jin (TAKESHI KANESHIRO) are ordered to capture the new leader and the two hatch an elaborate plan. Captain Jin will pretend to be a lone warrior called Wind and rescue the beautiful, blind revolutionary Mei (ZIYI ZHANG) from prison, earning her trust and escorting her to the secret headquarters of the House of Flying Daggers. The plan works, but to their surprise, Jin and Mei fall deeply in love on their long journey to the House. Danger lurks in the forest surrounding them, and the wind is still, as if sensing the tension in the air. What l ies ahe ad for Jin and Mei, these star-crossed lovers? If this is true love, then why are there plots in their heads, and secrets in their hearts?

When is the Offical Chinese DVD is coming out? I cann't wait to see this film.

Hasn't been announced yet, but I'm betting it's in theaters here before there's an official subtitled DVD ... it goes into limited release December 3rd, wide release a couple weeks later.

And no, they're not the same trailer. They start off the same but it changes up about mid way through ...
