Sony Pictures Classics lands distro rights for WKW's 'Ashes of Time Redux'

Sony Pictures Classics has picked up North American distribution rights to Wong Kar Wai's Ashes of Time Redux. The film is represented by Fortissimo Films. Ashes of Time Redux is a reworking of WKW's only martial arts pic. It is in post-production and it is expected to be completed late this year, typical of a WKW film. Who wants to bet it will be delayed even later? Just kidding, but you know what I mean about a WKW film being on time. It just doesn't happen. Just a reminder of some of the names involved with this film Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Tony Leung Kar-fai, Brigette Lin, Maggie Cheung and the late Leslie Cheung; the cream of the crop of HK actors and actresses.
