First Teaser for Wilson Yip's Flash Point

(Posted In Action Asia Martial Arts Trailer Alert )

flashpoint.jpgThanks to "Beat TG" for the heads up. A teaser trailer for Wilson Yips's Flash Point is online through Donnieyen.net. The crime action film stars Donnie Yen and Louis Koo as fierce cops who attempts to take down three powerful triad bosses. All hell starts to break loose, resulting in plenty of ass kicking goodness!

It opens in Hong Kong on July 26th.

Sweet! It just so happens that I love ass kicking!

Does this have any...you know...acting, aside from the kicking of asses?

No I kidd, I kidd. This looks pretty bad ass. Donnie Yen is one mean mother, even though he looks like a pussy on that website.

That's some serious ass kicking! It looks like they're adapting some "Tony Jaa style" choreography into the signature Donnie Yen moves. I can't wait to see it. Crossing my fingers that it shows up at the TIFF like SPL did and the cast will show up to talk.

that looks awsome but i hope we didn't just see every action scene in the movie. trailers these days can be tricky

I think that the combination of the picture at the top of the page and the kick-ass trailer at the bottom show that Donnie Yen could be one of the few guys who could say, "I'm a lover...and a fighter."

to say that donnie is adapting tony jaa choreography is a joke... tony could only hope to reach half of donnie's level.

the fact that we even mention tony jaa's name in the same sentence as Donnie Yen is enough evidence to prove that Honk Kong action flicks have been sleeping for a while. Donnie Yen is making a great attempt to bring martial arts flicks back. SPL was great. I hope FlashPoint takes it to the next level.

Tony Jaa & Donnie Yen? No comparison. Donnie is an excellent action choreographer, stunt person, fighter and martial artist. Tony Jaa is only a physical skills performer. His muay thai has a sort of brutal and 'angular' look to it, but for film purposes, the sort of moves that Donnie Yen does exudes power while being graceful and aesthetically pleasing.
