TREASURES OF SACRED ART: TUSCAN JOURNEYS
Koch Vision

The price tag on this set is considerably lower online or on the secondary market but even at $100 you’d be getting good value. It’s just astounding how well presented this material is. Treasures of Sacred Art focuses on the incredible art history of the Italian Tuscany in-depth with 30 episodes on six disc set offering a virtual museum of the best the regions churches, museums abbeys and monasteries have to offer including the extraordinary accomplishments of artists like Cimabue, Giotto, Duccio, and Michelangelo. For anyone interested in the history of Christian art this is the best possible starting place for anyone interested in just plain ole art you could do much worse. It's somewhat akin to the well known Sister Wendy series although here the commentary seems less intimate and personal. Wisely the shows creators let the art speak largely for itself immersing you in an experience unlike almost any other you are likely to have without a jounrey to Tuscany itself.
