2 trailers for Chris Power & Nathan Hynes' LONG PIGS

(Posted In Comedy Film News Horror Random Festival News Trailer Alert USA and Canada )

long_pigs_still01.jpgThe official website for Chris Power and Nathan Hynes' Long Pigs is now online, and there are two downloadable trailers for the movie on that site. The movie is scheduled to have its world première at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, California on March 9th, and to subsequently be screened there on March 10th.

The screenplay for Long Pigs was written by Power and Hynes. The movie apparently stars Anthony Alviano, Barbara Walsh, Shane Harbinson, John Terranova, Paul Fowles, Roger King, (Chris) Power, and (Nathan) Hynes.

Here's a description of Long Pigs from the official website for the movie: "A pitch-black comedy and a condemning view of how documentary filmmaking can easily turn into ghoulish exploitation; Chris Power and Nathan Hynes's Long Pigs is a cheerfully grotesque provocation that might challenge your stomach as well as your mind. ¶ Anthony McAlistar (Anthony Alviano) is a jovial fellow who just happens to give Hannibal Lecter a run for his money in the cannibal serial-killer territory. Introduced preparing his own unsavory type of meal, Anthony regales the camera with philosophical anecdotes, aware that, as the subject of a documentary being shot by a pair of young filmmakers, he's the star of the program. ¶ The satire grows more pungent as the story progresses and the line between comedy and horror becomes thinner, calling into question not just Anthony's horrific actions but the role the camera plays in them. When does the media's fascination with watching become dangerous? And, when it comes to human lives, where is the line drawn between documentary and subject?"
