The official website for Kazuyoshi Kumakiri's Freesia - Icy Tears (Furîjia) is online, and there's a downloadable teaser trailer for the movie on that site.

The screenplay for Freesia - Icy Tears (Furîjia) was written by Takashi Ujita, based on the eponymous manga serial Furîjia by Jirô Matsumoto. The movie stars (listed order corresponds to order on cast page of official website) Tetsuji Tamayama, Hidetoshi Nishijima, Tsugumi, Masaki Miura, Tasuku Emoto, Pistol Takehara (Takehara Pisutoru), Shôji Kôkami, Kyûsaku Shimada, Maki Sakai, Hiroshi Ôguchi, and Kei Suma.

Here's a synopsis for Freesia - Icy Tears from the Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) website: "In the near future of a fictionalized Japan under wartime, the ancient 'Act of Vengeance' is revived and professional executioners are permitted to kill criminals by the requests from their victims. People who are to be executed are notified of the execution time and date in advance and they are allowed to have their own guard. ¶ Hiroshi, 29, is hired as an assassin at the 'Katsumi Vengeance Agency' for his precise shooting skill and his cold calm nature. Hiroshi meets his colleague Higuchi, 24, another agent who has put a hit on a young man named Toshio as Toshio's father has committed an atrocious war crime as a scientist and killed her parents. Hiroshi and Higuchi soon come to rediscover a traumatic incident that they share in their past. ¶ 15 years ago, Hiroshi, then a 14-year-old boy soldier, was under survival training in the woods. As he was lost and separated from the troop, he found a certain section of the forest being frozen unnaturally and his colleagues' bodies all piled up in a mountain. This atrocity was the result of an experimental bomb conducted by Toshio's father. Hiroshi also found a lone girl who has survived the bomb and she turned out to be nonetheless Higuchi. After that day, both Hiroshi and Higuchi have lost their ability to feel as a side effect from the bomb's radiation and thus made them perfect candidates for the 'Katsumi Vengeance Agency'. ¶ Not long, a warrant is also issued for Higuchi herself. Will Higuchi execute Toshio? Will Hiroshi be able to save Higuchi from being executed? But the most important question perhaps is will Hiroshi and Higuchi ever be able to regain their humanity?"

I refused to believe it's even possible to make a movie from this book.
And the preview seems to be a generic gunfight film, with none of the completely deranged stuff from the manga...

Well, I would add that that applies to many adaptations from manga (I would say that Ichi the Killer is an exception) that have been done in the last few years. After all, Japanese producers are only interested in cashing in a few yens by making tacky adaptations of cult manga.
Take for example "Tomie" or "Uzumaki" by Junji Ito, unfilmable material, but it was still done... poorly.
However, I've recently read the manga "Neighbour 13" by Santa Inoue and have to say that the film is far better than the original manga itself.

Dear me, this manga if i remember correctly, is quite disgusting.

I got the chance to see the film at a press screening a couple of months ago and all i can say is that Kumakiri avoid most part of the sex and disturbing stuff that you can find in the original manga. Not bad at all (Kumakiri is a good director) but if you are a fan of the manga you can be a bit disappointed. I was looking for something more "meatier".
