A triler has finally turned up online for The Boss of It All, the latest from Danish maverick Lars Von Trier, and while he hasn't been able to shed his compulsive technical tinkering - the camera on this one is stationary mounted with all pans and scans computer controlled and programmed in advance - in all other respects this is a radically different face than Von Trier has shown before. He's entirely ditched the anger and polemics for light comedy, a bit of slapstick, a chirpy soundtrack and the stunnng Iben Hjejle flashing some skin. Here's the synopsis:
In Lars von Trier's comedy the owner of an IT firm wants to sell out. The trouble is that when he established his firm he invented a non-existent company president to hide behind when unpopular steps needed taking. When the potential purchaser insists on negotiating with the 'president' face to face, the owner has to take on a failed actor to play the part. The actor suddenly discovers he is a pawn in a game that goes on to sorely test his (lack of) moral fibre.

Saw this at Pusan this year... great concept. Excellent and hilarious!
It premiered at the Reykjavik Film festival a few months ago but I missed it. But regular showings of it started yesterday so I'm hoping to see it.
Funny to see how the Icelandic campaign for it focuses on Fridrik Thor and the other Icelandic actors in it but they are completely absent from the Danish campaign.
