First Footage From Chilean Masked Hero Film MirageMan With Kiltro's Marko Zaror!

(Posted In Action Film News Martial Arts Mexico and South America Trailer Alert )

Mirage-Man-poster-correct.jpgWe promised just a couple days ago that we would have the first footage from Chilean masked hero film MirageMan to share soon and we've just gotten the thumbs up to share it.

The film is the latest from director Ernesto Diaz Espinoza and martial artist Marko Zaror, who last teamed up on the martial arts films Kiltro. In this one Zaror plays a security guard who becomes a masked crime fighter with the film going for a pretty hard edged martial arts feel - absolutely no CG or wire assist at all in the film - fused with a very lo-fi superhero feel. It seems to me like they've taken the typical verite style that South American film is known for and fused it with the old-school late 70's Hong Kong low budget aesthetic that you might suggest was just a little bit campy if not for fear that you'd get kicked in the head for saying so.

It says here that Zaror's going to explode internationally one of these days. Will this be the film that does it for him? No idea, but give the footage a look ... Bear in mind that this reel was handed to me literally three days after the film finished shooting and so it is completely untouched by ANY sort of post production work. This is the raw stuff, completely unaltered.

That kick to the head looked painful. This guy could be huge in the right hands. I can toatally see him as a costar in an upcoming Tony Jaa flick and even bigger and better things in the future.

I can't belive they are using this font for the logo. Hopefully it's only temporary.
I used this same font in a logo for a local strip joint. Check it.

As for the trailer. This looks painfully bad, aside from the fight scenes. Farrell is right that this guy could do great things in Asia or the States if he got the chance. Somebody with some pull just needs to spot him.

uhm, it's not that bad, after all. I like the fight scenes for sure, but it's give me also some feelings, don't know how to explain, but I think it had potential.

Me encanta marko zaror, es un actor muy dedicado, las secuencias le salen muy bien, aparte de que es buen moso. (wachón!!!)
