Well, it's about time. That's all I've got to say about that.
Seiji Horibuchi of VIZ Pictures recently announced that VIZ will soon be releasing two of the more sought after titles around here on DVD in North America: Katsuhito Ishii's The Taste of Tea and Nobuhiro Yamashita's Linda Linda Linda will both be on US shelves soon. All the details can be found here.

Thanks to fnordboy for the pointer.
Lets hope they don't butcher the video quality on them like they did on "Kamikaze Girls" along with the burnt-in subs really didn't help.
Please VIZ, put a little more effort into your products or consumers will turn to releases from other countries i.e Korea.
^^agreed. Too bad Kino didn't pick these up, but I guess they're not really arty-drama enough.
Linda Linda Linda is also playing in NYC right now, at the ImaginAsian, though tonight may have been the last night.
Good thing I already got Taste of tea and I recived Funky Forest yesterday.
Linda Linda Linda is a great movie, it seems of late that a lot of asian movies are getting delayed releases in the west.
this will be while "linda" didnt get subs for the korean market then. that's beginning to rise, that apparent practice - especially in korea, normally 100% reliable - so now we can predict USA licenses of asian films by this lack of subs on korean discs. useful, but not preferable, still anti-competative at heart.
Huzzah for subtitled Linda Linda Linda!
But why did it have to be VIZ? ;_;
Whoa, I never though a movie like Linda Linda Linda would get picked up for R1 distribution. I guess I've got to eat a little crow.
But that's some sweet news! I've been thinking of picking of the PARAN MAUM CD single. That Linda Linda song is pretty catchy.
I guess Kamikaze Girls must be selling pretty well for Viz. I picked up a copy and thought that they did an alright job with it. Though I'm not a videophile.
Now I've been given new hope that we'll eventually see Nana and She The Ultimate Weapon (Saikano) too. :)
With so much Asian stuff getting released in the US, I'm not sure I can keep up with all the releases that sound interesting.
