This short French zombie-western-comedy from director Abel Ferry actually dates back to 2004 but I've just stumbled across a trailer for it now and, hey! IT's got Troma's Lloyd Kaufman and Jeunet regular Dominique Pinon in it!
In the far...far... and wild... wild... west, during the gold rush.
LOUD JACKSON, ex-confederate army colonel and RAMON SANCHEZ, a fearless head hunter team up to help Apache chief HEAVY FEATHER defend his ancestral lands from the greedy hordes of Gold diggers.
...with nothing but a fistful of zombies...
Grab your arms, legs, load up your colts and crawl into battle!
Dead or alive, it doesn't matter. This is about guts…

The french title of the short is Le Bon, la brute et les zombies, I don't understand the bad translation... it must be The Bad, The Ugly and the Zombies, like Sergio Leone's classic spagetti western film.
For a trailer that really shows nothing it has such a cool feel to it. The score with the trailer is dead on, very errie... is there a dvd of this?
The good, the bad and the zombies is the right translation. Yeps, me too want DVD.
I don't know if it's art but I like it! I'm a sucker for weird westerns and think that the genre has been generally neglected. For some reason it makes more sense that most of these movies are European - they have such a peculiar sensibility about the American West.
I mean, uh, zombies! guns! grizzled guys!
