Wesley Snipes Is Gallowwalker

The producers of Gallowwalker are playing coy with the details - I've been waiting for approval to post some of this for literally almost a year now - but now that their hand has been called by a leaked casting call notice they've agreed to let some bits out. Here's what we know:

The film is titled Gallowwalker and is slated to be directed by Andrew Goth with Wesley Snipes in the lead. It is a western, by which I mean an honest-to-god Sergio Leone style western and not City Slickers. It features zombies and lots of them. Some sites have reported that Snipes will be playing a character called KAOS, which is not correct: his character has not been revealed anywhere and will not be until a Gallowwalker comic is released somewhere prior to the film's launch.

We also have a first look at the film's teaser one sheet. For those with crappy monitor resolution, here's the text from the front of that:

When a man takes a life, you take his in return. That's the way it's always been.

"Andrew Goth" is the second worst name for a director I've heard. The worst is of course "KAOS", who is not a character in this film but rather the auteur who brought us ECKS VS. SEVER.

Ah, but Goth can at least take refuge in knowing that it's his actual name. KAOS has no defense but his own stupidity.

Personally, I'm kind of hoping the have David (Deadwood) Milch do the final rewrite of this. Because cowboys and zombies together are pretty damn cool, but cowboys, zombies, and intensely foul language would be EPIC.

Wasn't Goth once previously slated to direct the Chow Yun Fat starring zombie western THE WRETCHED? It must have mutated into this project, I guess.

Interesting premise, but when someone uses "fast and furious" to describe anything out of that franchise, it kinda makes my stomach turn.

Why do people like to criticize Andrew Goth. I think Gallowalker would be big success. They are a great team working together. So people out there stop complaining about things you can't change and get a life.OK!!!

Time will tell, but I think they may have missed the mark using weak names and having a kid in the flick.I think the costumes are kinda odd, and its not really a western, they are creating a western feel, but its like the wild west meets the matrix or somthing.Hey if its good, it will only help me get my script out and do a real western with horror in it.
