We have an update on the Tsui/Lam/To Jigsaw project!

(Posted In Action Asia Drama Film News )

To-Tsui-Lam.jpgThe exciting project, dubbed the Jigsaw project is set to start filming soon. The ambitious project helmed by three directors, Tsui Hark, Ringo Lam and Johnnie To will join together the creative talents of all three directors, each responsible for creating one third of the film. Tsui will start the film, Lam will fill in the middle and To will complete the story.

First of all we now know that it has a title. The literal translation is THE IRON TRIANGLE.

Second, we have a premise that will start the film. A few guys with little money and a lot to worry about gather together to chat about how to get rich. Then a mysterious man sitting in the same room approaches them with a treasure map. However, to get their hand on the treasure, the map is only the first of a series puzzles they have to solve.

Third, we hadn't reported and casting news but reports say that the cast includes To regular Simon Yam [name a To film, any film], Louis Koo, who has starred in projects for Tsui and To [Election 1 and 2, Throwdown, The Legend of Zu], Kelly Lin [Legend of Zu and Fulltime Killer] and Sun Hong-lei [Seven Swords].

While not much has been said about Tsui and Lam around these parts To has become an absolute darling this past year. Because of him alone I will keep a watchful eye out for more news Twitchers.

Hark deserves a lot of respect for Peking Opera Blues and The Blade (speaking of, where's a decent DVD of this?). I'm hoping he's got at least one more great film in him, though his track record is sporadic at best.

Hark also gets my respect for the CHINESE GHOST STORY films,he may be listed as producer but those are his hands on those movies. I watched BREAKING NEWS last night and it was very well done. With the skill all three have the result could be cool.

Heh, someone else who can appreciate Peking Opera Blues. ;) I'll forgive Hark pretty much anything for that film, and for that and yes, The Blade too, I'd count his involvement as something to get excited about. I do kind of feel for Lam and To having to deal with whatever craziness he dreams up for the opening of this, though.
