I agree. While I'm hopefully optomistic that Imagi will deliver the goods on this project, I hope this new "Gatchaman" will be better than the disappointing OVA series that came out in the early 2000's. I hope the new movie will not take too many liberties with the story and won't "update" the costumes too much (I still enjoy the 70's look and feel of the characters of the original series). Rather than CGI, I would love to see "Gatchaman" in live action (either done by a Hollywood studio or Toei or Toho). I wonder if the new movie will be similar in style to those neat NTT commercials in Japan.

Ooops. My mistake. I meant early 90's (Gatchaman OVA was released in 1994).

Father of the Pride didn't exactly blow wind up my skirt. Gatchaman was such a huge part of my childhood [Battle of the Planets or G-Force]. I was just talking about this anime/cartoon with my boss at the shop here. Ah memories. Memories taken and dashed upon the jagged rocks.
James ::: Can you provide a link to said commercials so I know what you're reffing?

Just run the term "NTT" and "Gatchaman" through youtubed.com and the commercials should be there. Really cool.

The official site on which these videos came from is down. Supposly, there was to be a live action TV series but it got canceed. The original show was before my time so I'm not too fimilar with it. It seems the current trend now is taking an old anime and repackaging it for the new audience.

Hi.I am a major fan of Gatchaman !! I saw the new TMNT film and was slightly dissapointed in the character appearances and the audio SUCKED !!! They all sounded like they were talking through walkie talkies ! At times the voices were muffled and hard to understand. The battles were WAY COOL though !!!

Before Imagi does a Gatchaman Movie they REALLY should see Final Fantasy VII:Advent Children. The CG characters look life like and the animation and audio totally blew me away !!!

I would definately see TMNT again, however it could have been better.
I WILL DEFINATELY see Gatchaman !!! No Matter what.
