Every year a batch of new trailers is posted up on Hkfilmart.com at the Online Screening room section. Some of the trailer on the site is made up of old HK films or chessy B flicks from various countries. Among the trailers on the site that looks appealing to me is Johnnie To’s The Sparrow, a film that involves pick-pocketing. The film casts include Simon Yam, Kelly Lin and Lam Ka Tung. For a detailed synopsis (spoiler alert), go here.

Another film that caught my eye while browsing the site is Shaolin vs Evil Dead: Ultimate Power, the sequel to Shaolin vs Evil Dead with Gordon Liu and Louis Fan returning in the lead roles. This film probably holds the record for most Chinese Vampire (Kyonsi) on screen at once. Go here for the synopsis.

Johnnie To = best director in HK right now
^ indeed. even though alot (seems to me) of people have critism on his works.
love his works since The Mission.
lovely stuff. both very different of course, not so keen on the low-budget CGI in 'shaolin...' but am keen to see both after seeing 'election'. nice.
Thanks for that - I had given up on SvED2. I have to say the CGI looks a lot more dodgy than it seemed in the trailer which ran across the end of the first film - which in itself won the award for Most Abrupt Ending of a Film Ever!!
Some people need their heads knocking together for that idea!!
I do wodner if the aim was to raise the money to get the film finished - seems like they didn't raise enough to afford even TV level CGI. Perhaps they should have been slightly lsss ambitious ;)
