That Snake In Anaconda? Nothing But A Squirming Little Worm ... Check the Beasts In Boa ...

(Posted In Asia Film News Horror )
Much anticipated - well, around here anyway - That giant snake flick Vengeance is still fresh in theaters there and already the stakes in the big snake sweepstakes have been upped considerably. A snake that can eat a person whole? Child's play! How about one that can catch and crush a helicopter? Now that's a big snake. Literally all I know about this one is that it's titled Boa and it features large reptiles that would send my mother screaming from the room, but on the strength of those two posters I've just got to see it ... click those earlier links for big versions of both.

The official site isn't live yet but Deknang has loads of information in Thai here. Someone translate, please!

So, Boa; Snakes on a Plane; & D-War. And here I thought it was year of the Dog or something.

Looks like a Burmese Python not a boa

You're right, the pattern does look like a Burmese or Indian Python but those two would have vents along the sides of the face. Perhaps the director went with a hybrid here. Perhaps I put WAAAYYY too much thought into this?

Here is the synopsis's part. If I have more time, I'll come back later and translate the part that contained information about various snakes later. I tried to translate words by words and kept how the Thai writing were. I must say it's not the best writing.

Thank you. I enjoy your site always,

Your Thai friend (NY)

Synopsis:

..Among the nature of mountains and dense forest, something is hidden deep inside quietly …..

Pana, a young man whose life pleasure was photography, enjoyed traveling to places and took beautiful photos. One day Pana came to a forest near the border and while he was having fun collecting beautiful pictures of nature. He was dragged away and eaten in a horrible manner.

…A group of engineering students, Kin, Koh, Serd, Koi, Sida and Prae, Pana’s girl friend learned about his disappearance. They decided to go searching for him in the forest. They chose to travel by balloon in order to see the view below clearly.

….But a fierce storm crashed their balloon and it fell in to the dark forest.

…..In the night of torrent rain and vicious storm, all of them sought shelter under the Naga (Giant snake) statue. They were surprised to have found it and continued up the rock steps which led them to a cave where they decided to rest for the night, not knowing that they had come very close to an un-fightable danger.

…Something was slithering from its hiding place in the cave in order to specially receive the un-invited guests.

….A gigantic snake that lived in this mysterious cave did not wait to welcome this group of young men and women. It swallowed them one by one just as they were other delicious preys.

The one who survived the sharp fangs of the giant snake that frightful night must struggle to find the way out and the way to destroy the snake before it came back to them once more.

But when the path to escape is impossible, they turned to face it. An eye and an eye and a tooth for a tooth.

It’s the only way for them to survive.
