왕의 남자 (The King and The Clown) Theatrical Trailer Released

You make people laugh for a living, you put your entire body on the line to satisfy them. The life of a Clown is never easy, especially when the person you must steal a smile from is one of the most detested Kings in Korean History: Yeonsan.

But Gam Woo-Sung and his colleagues will try to do so in 왕의 남자 (The King and The Clown), the new film from Director Lee Joon-Ik. His past work 황산벌 (Once Upon a Time in The Battlefield) was able to effectively combine tropes often associated with Historical Dramas, local humour making fun of the regionalist attitude permeating different facets of Korean society, and poignant Drama.

The film, which will release next December 29, also stars Jung Jin-Young as King Yeonsan, Lee Joon-Gi and Kang Sung-Yeon. You can read a preview of the film here.
