First Trailer For John Fawcett's The Dark

(Posted In Film News Horror Trailer Alert USA and Canada )

thedark.jpgI'll admit to having a rooting interest in The Dark ... it's the new film from Canadian director John Fawcett, a veteran of a great deal of television work who was also behind the indie Canadian werewolf film Ginger Snaps. This is Fawcett's first crack at things with a big budget and I've heard enough good things about it and want to see a Canadian break into the genre's A-list enough that I'm willing to put aside the fact that Paul W.S. Anderson is on board as a producer.

Anyway ... the first trailer for Fawcett's picture is now online. It's dubbed in German but it's enough to give you a good look at the visuals and get at least a cursory idea of where he's going with this and, if nothing else, it certainly looks fantastic. And you really can't go too far wrong with Sean Bean in the lead ...

A very good-looking trailer! All indications are this project was based on Simon Maginn's book SHEEP, but the plot seems to bear little resemblence - still, it definitely has my attention! Wonder when we'll see it stateside?

Great and I thought Roeves gave a great performance with an excellent Welsh accent which I've never heard him use before. mainly Scots or Geordie.

Ginger Snaps, how I love that movie...That opening credit sequence alone is worth the price of admission!

Film was written by Stephen Massicotte - another Canadian, (playright in fact) who also wrote the Ginger Snaps prequel.

Looking forward to this movie! Opening credits filmed in choppy seas - Bean on the hero boat solid - not so true of the film crew! - Is there a trailer [that works] on this site?
