Thirty Days of Night On the Fast Track?

Oooh ... Aint It Cool is running a report that says that thanks to the success of The Grudge and Boogeyman Sam Raimi's Ghosthouse Productions has gotten the green light to put 30 Days of Night on to the production fast track. For those not familiar with it, 30 Days of Night is a graphic novel telling the story of a northern Alaska town attacked by a group of vampires during one of their extended night cycles. The plot of the book is a bit slim so it'll need a good bit of beefing up to work as a film but the basic premise is fantastic and last I heard they had Collateral's screenwriter working on it. This will be by far Ghosthouse's most expensive production which made the thumbs up from studio higher ups a necessity ... word is that 30 Days will begin production immediately following Scarecrow, the english language debut from the Pang Brothers.
